●Maho Hikino [IN WALL] 5 minutes
A story of a girl in a small place
Dirty, surrounded by walls
She hands a drill, makes many tiny holes into a wall
These holes come to form a shape of bird
Looking up at sky in her daily life
-A drill symbolize instinct for destruction-
-A Bird indicates hope for freedom-
Dreaming of a place where we have never been
Wishing we could be someone else
To be free
We are walled up in walls
There is no telling whether we can flee from there, or cannot
However
The action which she took was certainly engraved in wall
Maho Hikino
Produce video installation, short film, animation and art project.
Focus to the textures, such as color and form are changing from moment to moment.
It’s a moving "picture" in the screen, like the image that appear a eternal and frail beauty when a painter draw pictures.
In my works, I present new possibilities of what a painting can be.
